Product / Connectors

Keep your index in step with where documents live.

In short

troveGEN connectors read from Google Drive, Microsoft 365, Amazon S3, Azure Blob, SFTP, websites and network folders, then keep the index current. Only changed files are re-read, and a file removed at the source is removed from search.

Sources

Google Drive

Sign in once, pick a folder, and the whole subtree is synced with its folder structure.

Microsoft 365

SharePoint libraries and OneDrive. Sign in as a user, or use your organisation’s own app limited to one site.

Amazon S3 and compatible stores

AWS S3, MinIO, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze and others, with a prefix filter.

Azure Blob Storage

By connection string or account key, per container.

SFTP

Password or key, with the server’s host key verified on every connection.

Websites

Scheduled re-crawls with a safety check against a site that suddenly shrinks.

Network folders

A mounted share inside your network, confined to the folders an administrator allows.

Feed URL and custom OAuth

Publish a simple list of files from any system, including air-gapped ones, or connect any OAuth-protected source.

Staying current

Only what changed

Unchanged files are never re-read or re-embedded.

Deletions follow

A file deleted or moved out of scope at the source disappears from search, with its derived data.

Live progress

Watch a sync count documents as it runs, with a history of every run.

Safe by default

A single bad file cannot stall a run, and a partial listing never causes mass deletion.

Control

Handling per source

Choose document type, book or document layout, and options for each source, and change them later.

Secrets stay sealed

Credentials are encrypted at rest, never shown again, and rotated tokens are saved automatically.

Folder structure kept

Folders in the source become folders in the project, so the structure is kept.

How a sync works

  1. List

troveGEN asks the source what exists and what changed.

  2. Compare

Content hashes decide what is new, changed or unchanged.

  3. Ingest

New and changed files go through the normal ingestion pipeline.

  4. Remove

Files gone from the source are removed with everything derived from them.

Questions people ask

Which sources can troveGEN sync?

Google Drive, Microsoft 365 (SharePoint and OneDrive), Amazon S3 and compatible stores, Azure Blob, SFTP, websites, network folders, a feed URL, and custom OAuth sources.

What happens when a file is deleted at the source?

On the next sync it is removed from search, together with its passages, vectors, tables, figures and graph entries.

Does syncing re-read every file each time?

No. Content hashes identify unchanged files, which are skipped.

Can I use it without internet access?

Yes. The feed URL connector and network folders work entirely inside your network.
